Happy May 4th, otherwise known as Star Wars Day!
In honor of the iconic books and movies, today Toyota of Orlando is talking all about the impressive technology that you’ll find in so many of our new Toyota cars. We may not have blasters or light sabers or holograms, but we do have some pretty cool other technology that’s designed to make your drive time simple, efficient, and enjoyable. Let’s take a closer look!
Which Toyota technology do you need in your next ride?
Head-Up Display: When you get behind the wheel of the Orlando Toyota Prius, you won’t be able to see Leia talking to you on the dash via hologram (sorry). However, this new Toyota hybrid DOES have a pretty cool Toyota technology that’s somewhat similar – the Head-Up Display. Basically, this feature projects important information – like speed, road markings, and more – onto your windshield just above the hood. It’s transparent so you can still see the road, and it allows you to keep your eyes where they need to be. You won’t have to glance down at your multi-information display and look away from the road around you, which ups safety in a big way.
TNGA Engines: While Toyota cars like the 2017 Toyota 86 have speed, horsepower, and torque on their side, they definitely don’t have hyperdrive capabilities… yet. However, Toyota technology is taking massive leaps when it comes to engine performance. This year (with more to come in the next few years), the company rolled out advanced engine technology for several models. Toyota New Global Architecture will be integrated into the new engines to improve fuel efficiency by at least 20% and also boost power performance at least 10%. These Dynamic Force Engines will improve fuel combustion and air intake while also lowering energy losses.
Entune and voice recognition: While we’d love to have R2D2 giving us directions and BB8 supplying the music, it’s probably not going to happen in the foreseeable future. That’s OK, though – Toyota technology like the Entune App Suite and voice recognition are integrated into many of our Orlando Toyota cars as a compromise. Voice recognition allows you to give voice commands to your vehicle for hands-free capabilities. The Entune App Suite allows you to utilize technology like Pandora Radio, navigation, and more… and you’ll also find features like real-time traffic, weather, sports, stocks, and other information at your fingertips.
