Are you thinking about hitting the highway this summer for a getaway? If so, then using navigation is probably going to be one of your go-tos when you’re behind the wheel trying to get to your final destination. However, do you know the basic ins and outs of navigation in your Orlando Toyota? We’re here to help you work it out so you can hit the road with confidence and get where you need to go as efficiently as possible!
What types of navigation are available in an Orlando Toyota?
When you buy a new Orlando Toyota, there are two main types of navigation available:
Toyota Entune Plus Scout GPS Link, which is available on cars that come with Toyota Entune Plus. It’s an app that you download on your phone, and you link it up with your new Orlando Toyota so that your navigation displays on your touchscreen for major convenience. It has voice recognition, as well as turn-by-turn directions, gas prices near you, a quickest route option, and is subscription-free to make your life easier. You can also preset home, work, and other destinations, and the app will offer you suggested destinations if the address you’ve input isn’t quite right.
Toyota Entune Premium Integrated Navigation, which is an app in your Entune System that also displays on your touchscreen, but doesn’t require syncing with a phone to operate – it’s already built into your Entune system. It includes all of the above capabilities, plus a larger 7″ touchscreen, connectivity with Yelp and Destination Search, and integration with traffic and gas stations. It’s also operable from the dash of your new Toyota rather than your phone, and doesn’t require the download of the app.
Why use a Toyota navigation system?
You should choose the type of Toyota navigation that’s best suited to your drive time needs. Both offer exceptional experiences, but they do have their differences (including the phone syncing element).
What are the perks of using in-car Toyota navigation versus applications like Google maps or even just a traditional atlas? For one, the map gets displayed on your touchscreen audio system and can be utilized there. You don’t need to use your phone or a paper map, which is a road safety hazard. You can even use the handy steering wheel controls and voice recognition found in so many of our Orlando Toyota options! Additionally, these in-car systems are often backed by warranty, have a larger display than your phone, and won’t run out of battery or get lost like your phone can! On top of that, in-car navigation capabilities boost the resale value of your ride, so you can get more money when you go to sell down the road.
