Spring has sprung – we hit a record high yesterday in terms of temperature, and the sun has been out in full force for the past few days. That means it’s time to get down to spring cleaning! If you’re planning some car detailing to get your ride back into shape, we have Orlando Toyota tips to keep the job simple and stress-free.
Toyota of Orlando has tips for spring cleaning your car!
Spring cleaning tip #1: Buy a can of compressed air. It’s perfect for getting into those nooks and crannies that you can’t quite reach with the vacuum hose when you’re car detailing, as well as cleaning out air-conditioning vents that need to be dust-free.
Spring cleaning tip #2: Straighten up your glovebox! This can easily become a sort of catch-all for some people, but that can just make your drive time more stressful than it needs to be. All you should have in there is your insurance cards, registration, tire pressure gauge, flashlight, phone charger, and maybe a small first aid kit. You might also keep a pen and paper on hand. However, clear out all the other clutter to make life easier!
Spring cleaning tip #3: Ditch the pet hair. Pet hair can make your car look a lot worse than it actually is. Spritz the seats with a spray bottle of water, and then use a rubber squeegee to scrape all the hair off. And don’t forget, putting a sheet down (or a pet barrier if you want to get fancy) will help prevent pet hair from attaching itself to the seats in the future!
Spring cleaning tip #4: Get rid of the lovebugs. These pesky insects are notorious this time of year in Orlando, and they can make car detailing a big pain. Use a dryer sheet to scrub them off your vehicle! And don’t leave them too long – they can actually damage your car’s paint and lead to annoying repairs.

Spring cleaning tip #5: Declutter! It’s a pain to get all the extra junk out of your car, but it’ll make it look a lot cleaner and neater and also make your car detailing experience a lot easier. Don’t forget to check under the seats for trash, and empty out the trunk or cargo hold while you’re at it. You may want to invest in some trunk organizers to keep things neater in the future!
Spring cleaning tip #6: Use club soda to get stains out of the upholstery! It’s a great way to remove tough stains like coffee that can easily mar your interior. Use a cloth and pat the stain, applying club soda to help lift it out of the fabric.
Spring cleaning tip #7: Make your nose happy again. Did you know that charcoal briquettes actually absorb odors? You can leave a handful under the seat to absorb those nasty smells and then place a few dryer sheets next to them to freshen things up!
