When it comes to your car’s tires, do you have questions? You’re not alone – here at Toyota of Orlando, we see tons of customers who need a little assistance in the tire department. Luckily, we have skilled Toyota technicians on deck who can answer any and all of your questions when it comes to all things auto service, including your car tires! Today we sat down with Ozzie Perez, one of our service advisers, to find out some of the most commonly asked questions when it comes to car tires. See what this Orlando Toyota pro had to say!
Question #1: What’s the light on my dash?
It’s never a good feeling when you see an unfamiliar light illuminate in the dash. However, if it’s the tire light, there’s no need to panic. “People ask me what the squiggly line light is in their dash, and I automatically know it’s the tire light,” Ozzie says. Typically, this indicates that your car is in need of simple Orlando auto service – a tire pressure check and fill. We can take care of it for you here at our service center and have you back on the road in no time!
Question #2: When do I need new tires?
This is a pretty common question according to Ozzie, because tires are definitely an investment. However, they’re one of the most important ones you can make for your vehicle because they take the brunt of the wear and tear when it comes to your drive time. You want tires that are in excellent shape for performance, fuel efficiency, AND safety reasons. Here are some of the signs that Ozzie suggests you look for – they usually indicate that a set of new tires is in your near future:
- Visible wear bars
- Bubbles, bulges, or blisters
- Sidewall separation
- Dry rot
- Bald edges on the tires
If you see any of these signs, your tires are about to come to the end of their lifespan and you should schedule Orlando car tire service to have our techs double check and then replace them before you hit the road again.
Question #3: Why is my car vibrating, or why am I hearing funny noises when driving at high speeds?
These questions usually go hand in hand when it comes to car tires because they both indicate a problem. If you’re feeling more vibration than normal when you’re highway driving, or you hear odd noises, then it may be time for a new set of tires or a rotation. Bring your vehicle into Toyota of Orlando to have a tech take a look, Ozzie suggests. They’ll take a test drive to confirm the vibration or noise, and then do a suspension inspection to ensure that’s not where the problem is originating from. After that, they’ll check your tires to see what’s going on and formulate a plan of action from there!
