When you think of a new Toyota in Orlando, you probably don’t associate it with being American-made. However, you’d be wrong! Did you know that we produce and manufacture a large number of our vehicles right here in the USA? While no vehicle is 100% built in America, a percentage of the vehicle often is… and Toyota cars are no exception. Did you further know that the 2016 Toyota Camry is topping the American-made index yet again this year? It’s beating out competitors like Ford and Chevy by far (78.5% domestic content, versus Ford’s 49% and Chevy’s 13.5%), which is surprising to a lot of drivers who assume new Toyota cars are made exclusively overseas. If you want to buy American, buy a new Toyota in Orlando!
Our Orlando Toyota cars offer American-made options!
Besides the Orlando Toyota Camry, which of our new Toyota cars are manufactured and built here in America? Here are the facts:
Alabama: The Huntsville, Alabama plant builds V8 engines for the Tacoma, Tundra, and Sequoia, as well as 4-cylinder engines for the Toyota Camry, RAV4, Venza, and Highlander! (Although the Venza is about done – it’s no longer in production!)
Kentucky: The plant located in Georgetown, Kentucky is the largest Toyota manufacturing facility in North America! It’s no surprise, then, that it produces new Toyota Avalon, Camry, Camry Hybrid, and Avalon Hybrid models (as well as a handful of Lexus models).
Indiana: The Princeton, Indiana plant plays a pretty big part in producing American-made Orlando Toyota cars, including the Sequoia, Highlander, Sienna, and Highlander Hybrid.
West Virginia: The plant found in Buffalo, West Virginia produces a TON of engines needed to power our American-made Toyota cars. You’ll find that they make 4-cylinder engines for the Corolla and Matrix, as well as V6 engines for the Highlander and Sienna. They also turn out 6-speed automatic transmissions for the Avalon, RAV4, Camry, Highlander, Sienna, and a Lexus model!
Texas: Everything in Texas is big, and the Toyota plant there is no exception to that rule. It produces new Toyota trucks including the Toyota Tacoma and Tundra. In fact, the 1794 Edition of the Orlando Toyota Tundra is inspired by the plant’s location in San Antonio!
Mississippi: The plant located in Blue Springs, Mississippi is a super-efficient plant that focuses on sustainability. In addition to being green, they also produce the 2016 Toyota Corolla!
