If you’re a fan of superhero movies, May is your month! Orlando will be seeing a whole lot of famous faces hitting the big AND small screens, and we’re pretty excited here at our new Toyota dealership! We’ve got the breakdown of which movies are hitting where, and we also have a list of some of the best theatres in the Orlando area where you can take them in. Let’s get started – May is ALL about superheroes!
First, let’s talk about war – more specifically, Civil War. Captain America: Civil War hits the silver screen on May 6th here in Orlando, and we know you can’t wait to see the Cap take on Iron Man! The government has decided that they want a bit more control over the Avengers, so they’re setting up a governing body to hold them accountable. However, Captain America is having none of it – he wants the Avengers to remain free agents so they can concentrate on doing their job (you know, defending humanity and all that jazz). On the other hand, the usually defies-all-authority Iron Man is all for the agency holding the Avengers more accountable… which means this is war. See your favorite Marvel characters like Black Widow, Hawkeye, Crossbones, Bucky Barnes, Black Panther, Falcon, and more! Oh, and it’s rumored Spidey will also be making a big debut. If you’re a Marvel fanatic, this one’s for you!
Next, let’s talk mutants. X-Men: Apocalypse hits theatres on May 27th here in Orlando, and we’re pretty pumped to see our favorite mutants take on yet another seemingly impossible foe. This movie is part of the “young X-men” category, which means you’ll see the likes of Jennifer Lawrence and James McAvoy hitting the bit screen. The X-Men have to gear up to take on Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant in the world who’s hellbent on “purifying” mankind (i.e. create a whole new world order that he’ll rule). Magneto jumped on the bandwagon with him, so it’s up to Raven, Professor X, Jean Grey, Quicksilver, Storm, Beast, Nightcrawler, and Angel to bring it all to a halt and save the world. Whether you’re a fan of the old-school X-Men movies or prefer everything from X-Men: First Class forward, you’ll love this flick!
Looking for a good theater to check things out? Here are some of our favorite Orlando hot spots for movie viewing!
- AMC Altamonte 18 – it’s attached to the mall (hello, food court) and has awesome IMAX theaters for an incredible viewing experience!
- Cobb Plaza Cinema Cafe – it’s a beautiful theater that offers valet parking, has stadium seating, and offers a great refreshment bar with beer and wine to boot!
- Cinemark Artegon Marketplace – it has reclining seats that are EXTREMELY comfortable, and you can pre-pick your seats for some films to get the best view in the house!
And don’t forget – if you want to stay home and watch things on the small screen, Deadpool is being released on DVD on May 10!
Have a great May, and we’ll see you at the premieres!
