Are you trying to choose a new Toyota in Orlando and struggling with the color? You may have chosen your trim-level, your accessories, your packages, and everything else you have to decide on, but you also have to choose a color that’s going to keep you happy for the long run. Did you know there are actually some colors that are much more popular than others in the automotive industry? It’s true, and our new Toyota dealership in Orlando has the scoop for you on which ones are fan favorites and which ones not so much!
What color should you choose for YOUR new Toyota in Orlando?
The most popular color for a new car? White! Believe it or not, according to a DuPont Automotives Color Popularity Report 23% of drivers owned and preferred white as their car paint color. Black paint was a close second, and Silver pulled into third place with 16%. Here are how some of the other colors stacked up:
- Gray, 13%
- Red, 10%
- Blue, 9%
- Brown or Beige, 5%
- Yellow or gold, 3%
- Green, 2%
If you’re having trouble choosing your new Toyota’s paint color, our Orlando Toyota dealership is here to help… we have some tips for streamlining that particular process!
Choose a color for your new car like pro!
- Think about resale value. Your new Toyota will have a bit more resale value if you choose a paint color like white, black, silver, or red. Other hues aren’t as popular or common, and may knock a bit of value off overall!
- Also think about maintenance! Did you know that darker paint colors are harder to maintain when it comes to your new Toyota car? Dings, scratches, and other damage are more noticeable on dark paint, so you’ll have to touch it up more frequently to avoid seeing the issues. Dark paint colors also show more routine wear and tear than lighter colors! Additionally, dreaded pollen shows up a lot more on your dark car than on a lighter-colored Orlando Toyota, which means more washes on your end.
- Consider the temperatures. We live in Central Florida, where the summers are scorching and it’s warm almost year-round. A white car will probably be a bit cooler than a dark colored car on the interior, so if you don’t want as much work cooling down your cabin at the end of the day, consider a lighter-colored vehicle!
- Take theft into consideration. If you live in a high crime area or you’re worried about your car being stolen, then consider a not-so-conventional paint color. Remember what we said about resale value? Thieves are going to take cars that are more valuable to chop or sell, so they’ll choose the ones that have more value… which means more traditional paint colors. (You might consider getting an anti-theft system if you choose an Orlando Toyota in one of these hues!)
