Watch out for your furry friends this summer with our pet safety tips!
Pet car safety doesn’t have to take a lot of time, effort, or money – it’s actually pretty simple to keep your pets safe when you load them up in your Orlando Toyota for your summer road trip. Here are some of our best pet safety tips for your drive time!
Pet safety tip #1: You know how you always wear a seatbelt in your Orlando Toyota car? Your pet should, too! If you get into an accident of collision your pet can be severely injured or worse if they’re not strapped in. You can buy dog harnesses to attach to the seatbelt, or consider putting your pet in a carrier in a safe spot to contain them when you’re in motion. Remember, not only can your pet get hurt, they can become a projectile that can also injure you and your passengers!
Pet safety tip #2: Hitting the road this summer in your new Toyota? Remember to account for your pets when you think about rest stops! Your pet will need to use the restroom and get out to stretch its legs, so plan accordingly to make frequent stops. Be sure to always leash your pet at rest stops so you don’t run the risk of them running away!
Pet safety tip #3: Don’t let your pet eat a large meal before you hit the highway in your new Orlando Toyota. It might make them get sick to their stomachs, so feed them a small snack before you leave and be sure to keep them happy with clean water and treats while you’re out on the road!

Pet safety tip #4: NEVER leave your pet in the car alone! EVER! It gets way too hot for pets inside of your Orlando Toyota. Did you know that the temperature inside of your car can rise up to 40 degrees in just one hour? Cracking the windows or parking in the shade won’t help, either – the temps will still shoot up, especially in summer. Your pet can quickly suffer a heatstroke, organ failure, or even death. Never leave your pet inside the car even for a few minutes – take them with you, or leave them at home!
