Were you a fan of the first Orlando Toyota FT-1 concept that hit the market? It came out as the beginning of this year at the Detroit Auto Show, and it was a great example of just how amazing Toyota is at coming up with sports cars and concepts. Well, if you were a fan then, we’ve got some exciting news – a SECOND Toyota FT-1 concept hit the airwaves earlier this week, and it’s even cooler than the first one!
The new Toyota FT-1 concept has a sophisticated and subtly polished new look!
The second Toyota FT-1 concept went on display this past weekend at the Gordon McCall’s Motorworks Revival Gala in California. Toyota worked with Calty Design Research to create a sleek new Toyota concept that shucks off the red and black color scheme for a much sleeker graphite exterior and saddle-colored leather interior! Our Orlando Toyota dealership was thrilled to see it come into fruition, and we’re crossing our fingers that it’s a predecessor to the next Toyota/BMW sports car that’s in the works right now!
So, what’s so great about this new Toyota FT-1 concept car? Here are some of the highlights our Orlando Toyota dealership was able to glean:
- The same muscular and sporty appearance is on display when it comes to the body of this new Toyota concept car; you’ll notice the exaggerated curves and intakes straight off the bat. In some ways it’s reminiscent of great Toyota sports cars of the past and present, like the Toyota 2000GT and Orlando Scion FR-S!
- The interior will definitely make you do a double take – instead of the sleek black leather that dominated the first concept, Toyota and Calty Design swapped it out for a light saddle-colored leather that’s more sophisticated and polished. There’s also an intricate mix of design materials in the cabin; not only will you find the sleek saddle-colored leather on the seats and panels, you’ll also find mesh, cool metal, and and embossed patterns to lend depth and texture.
- The exterior has been given a whole new look simply by swapping out the paint color. If you remember, the original Toyota FT-1 concept was a bright cherry red. Toyota decided to go for a more subtle appeal with this new Toyota concept, choosing instead to go with a dark graphite color that lends a whole new degree of sophistication!
We still don’t have any details on specs, but we’re sure we’ll get a good idea soon – after all, this new Toyota will be hitting the streets this fall in the Gran Turismo 6 Playstation game – two versions will actually be available for download!
