Choosing a new ride is always pretty exciting – most drivers can’t wait to get behind the wheel of a new car and hit the highways. However, it can also be a little daunting when it comes to narrowing down your choices. Toyota of Orlando is always here to help; we’ve got a team of sales specialists that are well-versed in all things Toyota and Scion and ready to help you find the perfect fit. Today we’re taking a closer look at two of our sports cars: the 2014 Scion FR-S and the 2014 Scion tC in Orlando!
The 2014 Scion tC and 2014 Scion FR-S offer incredible driving experiences
While both of these new Scion in Orlando offer sports car solutions, they’re definitely very different from one another. They offer totally different drive time experiences, so it’s important to understand what each of them delivers to you when you get behind the wheel. That’s why we’re breaking down the differences for you – let’s see how the Orlando Scion FR-S and Scion tC compare!
- One of the most-talked about things when it comes to the 2014 Scion FR-S in Orlando is its performance. It’s built like a sports car and thus, steps were taken to make it behave like one too. It has a flat 2.0L Boxer engine underneath the hood, which gives it a low center of gravity, exceptional handling, and 200 horsepower for a little bit of vroom. However, it does take a toll on fuel efficiency, cutting it down to 22 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway.
- The new Scion tC, on the other hand, was built for a bit more functionality (and less for the track). It’s equipped with a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine that gives you less horsepower (179 hp to be exact), but considering the fact that this new Scion is much larger than its sibling, you’ll get better fuel efficiency – 23 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway.
- Speaking of space, you’ll get plenty of it in the 2014 Scion tC in Orlando! This new Scion boasts comfortable seating for 4-5 (while still maintaining a stylish coupe design), and has almost 15 cubic feet of cargo space in the trunk with the seats UP. The 2014 Scion FR-S, on the other hand, is smaller. This is because it was built to cater to a different audience and it’s designed like a true sports car. You’ll have seating for 4, but the backseat can seem cramped and your trunk space is cut in half (around 7 cubic feet). Hey, if you’re not big on carting passengers or cargo, then it’s perfect!
- Let’s talk money – while these cars offer different driving experiences, sometimes price can be a deciding factor on which one will work. The 2014 Scion tC has a starting MSRP of $19,965, while the 2014 Scion FR-S kicks off at $25,555. It’s your call as to whether or not the price discrepancy will work with your budget!
