It’s a new year, which means a lot of new innovation coming our way when it comes to new Toyota in Orlando! We’ve already seen quite a bit of achievement when it comes to these incredible cars; Toyota has placed a precedent on all types of research to make their vehicles better and the world a better place. However, one of the things that we’re most pumped about at our Orlando Toyota dealership is the possibility of a new sports car headed our way!
The next new Toyota in Orlando MAY be a sports car!
Toyota and BMW have been collaborating on a variety of projects since 2011; some of their achievements are aimed towards new lightweight materials for their cars (to bring down curb weight and enhance fuel efficiency), new battery technology, and even hydrogen cell fuel technology. Last year, they announced that they were about to embark on a year-long study to test the waters of the sports car world… and the study has finally been completed. This means a new Toyota in Orlando with sports car appearance and performance is headed our way!
Herbert Diess – who’s the chief of development at BMW – made an official announcement on Monday that with the study finished, both automotive manufacturers will get started on developing this incredible new sports car. If all goes accordingly, we could be seeing a concept as soon as next month at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show! Here’s some more information we’ve gleaned on what this new Toyota in Orlando might have to offer:
- It may be a successor to the ultra-popular Toyota Supra! This icon in the automotive world reigned king from 1978 to 2002, and was one of Toyota’s most renowned sports cars ever. It, of course, pulls roots from the Toyota 2000GT, and also shares close ties with the popular Orlando Toyota Celica!
- Some rumors indicate that Toyota was considering making this new sports car part of the Lexus line – it would serve as successor to the Lexus SC (one of their most popular convertible models). However, we’re hoping that they’ll make it a new Toyota option, as we know that alongside performance and appearance, affordability will be made a priority!
- While this new Toyota will be developed collaboratively with BMW, each automotive giant will have their own version of the vehicle (kind of like the 2014 Scion FR-S and 2014 Subaru BRZ).
- Some think that this Toyota sports car endeavor will look like the FT-HS concept, which was an incredible hybrid sports car concept released back in 2007. If this is the case, we’re in luck – this concept showcases futuristic and sporty curb appeal with a performance that’s unbelievable!
