Toyota to reveal new electric car AND open top Scion FR-S in 2013!

Orlando Scion FR-SThe Geneva Motor Show will be here before you know it, and it’s been rumored that Toyota is going to be unveiling some majorly impressive new concept vehicles! We can’t wait to see what’s in store for this innovative automotive company at Toyota of Orlando, and we’ll be sure to keep you posted! The Geneva Motor Show takes place in Switzerland from March 7-17 this year, and dozens of unbelievable new cars will undoubtedly be revealed, as automotive makers from all over the world will be featured at this event. This show is so popular that last year, they actually had to turn away visitors due to a full  house! We’re extremely excited to see what Toyota brings to the table – two notable rumors include an open-top Scion FR-S, as well as a new electric two-seater car, similar to the 2013 Toyota Prius Plug-in (but much, much sportier!).

An open-top Scion FR-S in Orlando?

First things first – let’s talk about the possibility of an open-top 2013 Scion FR-S in Orlando. Can you imagine? A convertible option would take this already extremely popular new Scion in Central Florida to an entirely new level, and we’re crossing our fingers that we get the option at our Orlando Toyota dealership. This new Scion would be deemed the FT-86 Open – outside of America, the new Scion FR-S is known as the Toyota GT-86. Apparently, Toyota is already testing out prototypes, but they want to see what the public reaction to this incredible car will be. Undoubtedly, it’ll get the same reception as the 2013 Scion FR-S (instant popularity and a huge demand). If the FT-86 open is anything like this popular Scion, we’ll be happy – that means elements like:

  • A flat 4-cylinder Boxer engine, which allows for a lower center of gravity (and much better handling).
  • The allure of a rear-wheel drive sports car that has a starting MSRP of just $25,255!
  • A super-sporty exterior with 17″ wheels, dual exhaust, and daytime running lights
  • An interior swathed in dark fabric with bright red accents, a Pioneer Sound System, and even remote keyless entry and cruise control

The i-Road will present a new electric car option

Toyota is also said to be unveiling a new electric two-seater option that has sports car looks, but a performance that’s as eco-friendly as it gets – our Toyota dealership in Central Florida can’t wait to see this one. This concept would be an incredibly stylish and innovative way to go green, and it’s designed specifically for city drivers who want to make a different. It’s a two-seater, and oddly enough, the seats are tandem (kind of like a bobsled). However, Toyota promises that it’ll still boast speed and efficiency, as well as a sleek look! Judging from the performance of the 2013 Toyota Prius Plug-in, which boasts incredible fuel efficiency due to it’s all-electric capabilities, this new concept car will be a hit with green drivers! This new concept has been dubbed i-Road, and we’ll keep you posted as we get more sneak peeks!
