Everyone knows that Toyota is renowned for being a forerunner in terms of innovation and research; that’s evident in their groundbreaking hybrid cars, like the Orlando Toyota Prius family, as well as their safety technology, which is evident in the important Toyota Star Safety System. However, did you know that Toyota also does research in the field of new and inventive concept vehicles? While some of them look like they’re out of a re-run of Star Wars, they all boast practicality, technology, and comfort – plus the reliablity and innovation for which Toyota has gained such an excellent reputation! We probably won’t see any of these interesting new Toyota cars in Orlando anytime soon, but hey – we can dream, right?
In terms of durability and performance similar to that of the Orlando Toyota Tacoma or Tundra, we’ll first take a look at the A-BAT. It honestly looks like something Batman would drive around Gotham City, but it’s really just a versatile compact pickup that’s sleek enough for everyday driving and tough enough to haul decent amounts of cargo. Since it’s a compact pickup truck aimed more towards versatility in all driving situations, the A-BAT has a four-foot bed and there’s also a translucent roof panel in the cab, which opens up so you can fit taller cargo inside the truck as well.
The interior of the Toyota A-BAT can comfortably seat four, and is decked out in a material that’s both tough and comfortable – this innovative Toyota truck possessed major adaptability. One of our favorite features here at Toyota of Orlando are the eco-friendly solar panels on the dash, which help to charge the high-tech navigation system and information displays! Oh, and it has a hard drive for your favorite tunes – talk about having your music at your fingertips!
Here at our Toyota dealership in Central Florida, we were also impressed with the F3R, which looks like it could be a distant cousin of the Toyota Highlander in Orlando, as well as the Toyota RAV4 or even the Scion xB! This concept vehicle is definitely family-friendly, and one of the points of planning for its inception was interior space. The F3R has three rows of seating, so it can comfortably seat up to eight people without a problem. Essentially, the F3R is about roominess, but comfort is also a large factor. It features a passenger seat that reclines like a chaise lounge (hello, road trips) and second row seating that folds into the floor. Why is that a big deal? Well, not only does it provide you with extra cargo room, it also leaves space for your legs, since the third row of seats reclines all the way to a sofa-like seating arrangement!
One of the coolest things Toyota of Orlando noticed about the F3R was the fact that it has “stadium seating” – each row is a little bit higher than the row in front of it. This means you’ll never have to peer around your uncle’s head to see the flat-panel video screens (on which you can watch movies AND play video games). Additionally, our Orlando Toyota dealership highly enjoys the fact that the Toyota F3R is a hybrid and utilizes environmentally friendly materials like Ecoresin, which is recyclable, as well as Mythos (a seat fabric similar to leather that doesn’t release harmful chemicals when burned).
Toyota of Orlando prides itself on having the latest and greatest when it comes to new Toyota cars in Orlando, but these concept cars really take the cake! Who knows – in a few years, maybe you’ll be cruising Central Florida in an A-BAT, or taking a family road trip in the F3R!
