Toyota Conquers J.D. Power and Associates 2012 Dependability Study
To really prove how dependable Toyota vehicles are here is some information! Did you know that Toyota is the highest-ranked Non-Premium brand in the J.D. Power and Associates 2012 U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study? That’s right! The 2012 Toyota Yaris ranked #1 in the Sub-Compact Car section. Following right behind in the #2 spot is the 2012 Scion xD! When it came to Compact Cars the Toyota Prius grabbed the #1 spot (5th year in a row), and the Toyota Corolla snatched 2nd! Toyota wasn’t able to take #1 in the Compact Crossover margin, but it did take #3 which is still incredible considering all the competition. To get Toyota back in the #1 spot the Scion xB took it in the Compact Multi-Purpose Vehicle section. Another Scion to take #1 was the tC, clutching the Compact Sporty Car section. The Toyota Camry took #3 in Midsize Cars, but we will accept that! For the second year in a row the Toyota Sienna seized the #1 spot for Midsize Van. The Toyota Tundra is one Toyota that shows its dependability year, after year. It has been named “Most Dependable Large Pickup” seven years in a row.
11 Toyota Models Become IIHS Top Safety Picks
In addition to Toyota making incredibly durable vehicles, they make them save. Toyota was able to prove itself by getting 11 vehicles named 2012 IIHS Top Safety Picks. That includes the 4 door Toyota Yaris in the Minicars section. When it came time for the small cars to prove themselves the Toyota Corolla, Prius, and Prius C all showed that even though they are small, they are big in safety. Toyota dominated in the midsize car division with the both the Camry and Prius V being awarded. The Toyota Highlander and Venza took over the midsize SUV segment, followed by the Sienna taking the award for minivans and the Tundra Double Cab for large pickups.
